Revive The Suunah: Eclipse Prayer
It is expected that Australia will experience lunar eclipse tonight. It is expected that it will start around 4:20am and continue till after Fajar.
It is a Sunnah of our beloved Prophet to pray Salat Ul Kusuf during eclipse.
There was a miscommunication during khutba that we will pray the eclipse prayer at 9:30pm. As the eclipse will start around 4:20am Sheikh AbdulRahman reannounced at Asar prayer that we will pray the eclipse prayer at 4:45am inshAllah and finish 20 minutes before Fajar 5:27am.
Please make an effort to revive the Sunnah and join us.
Eid Al Fitr 2018
Rooty Hill mosque has reported “The moon has been sighted in Rooty Hill Masjid NSW, Four regular Musalleen of Rooty Hill Masjid has also given Shahdah (witness) of sighting moon in Sydney. It has also been sighted in Casuarina Beach, Darwin.”
InshAllah tomorrow Friday will be first of Shawal. Eid prayer will be at Snakepit Stadium, Beaton Park, 37 Foley St Gwynneville 2500.
Hall will open at 7am and iqamah will be at 7:45am sharp.

Wollongong Moon Sighting Committee had its meeting on Monday, 11 June 2018, and decided to meet again on Thursday for Sighting of the Moon.
The Committee is fully aware that some societies and/or groups had already made announcements about the day of Eid.
Any decision about Eid in Wollongong will be made by the Committee in its meeting on Thursday, 14 June 2018.
Once a decision is made, it will be announced on our facebook page, Omar Mosque website, Omar Mosque Watsapp group and an SMS will also be sent out, Inshallah.

Tahajjud – Night Prayer
InshAllah Tahajjud Prayer in congregation will start from Tonight, Tuesday 5 June 2018, at 3:45am followed by Suhoor. Eytakaf for Men in Mosque and for Sisters in Ladies Mosque, Building number 7.
“Verily, getting up at night is the most potent means of subduing the self and most effective in respect of words of prayer”

Gifted With Cancer – Ali Banat Passes Away
It is with great sadness that we bring you the news that our beloved brother Ali Banat passed away yesterday. إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
He proved to this world how something like cancer can be taken as a gift from Allah SWT. Doctors gave him 7 months to live, Allah SWT gave him 3 years. During these 3 years he left the ease of this life and started beautiful projects like MATW Project.
May Allah SWT increase his ranks in Jannah.
His Janaza Prayer will be held at Lakemba Mosque today after Dhuhr prayer. Those who can attend please wear white as it was one of his wishes.
May Allah SWT give him a high rank and give sabr to his family.
Ramadan 2018
Wollongong Moon Sighting Committee has announced that, InshAllah, tomorrow, Thursday 17 May 2018, will be first day of fasting. The Moon has been sighted in Brisbane.
InshAllah from tonight, Wednesday 16 May 2018, the Iqama for Isha prayer will be called at 7:00pm followed by Traweeh prayer.

1. Wollongong Moon Sighting Committee has been formed. The committee will announce about the start and end of Ramadan. The Committee consists on

2. Iftar roster on the inside door of the mosque (door of the main hall). Around 150 persons do Iftar at Omar mosque. Donors can register their names on the roster. Only 13 spots left, take a spot today to earn rewards.
3. Mosque used to have around 6 to 7 cooking pots, stoves and gas bottles, most of these things are missing, there is only one gas bottle, 2 stoves in the stores. Please return these items ASAP as they need to be used during Ramadan.
4. InshAllah we are going to have an Imam from Saudi Arabia to lead the Travee prayers. Hafiz Saud is arriving on 15 May 2018, InshAllah .
5. The reward of good things done in Ramadan gets multiplied, anyone who has pledged to donate for new building of Omar Mosque should try to pay in this holy month of Ramadan.May Allah SWT accepts your contributions and Bless you all with a house in Jannat ul Firdus.
