Fasting Ashura 10th Muharram – Iftar

Nine(9) & Tenth(10) Muharram Takeaway Iftar Dinner – Saturday, 29 August & Sunday 30 August 2020

InshAllah, Tomorrow, Saturday 29 August 2020 (9th Muharram) & Sunday 30 August (10th Muharram/ Ashura) there will be Takeaway Iftar at Omar Mosque.

Please come to Omar Mosque from 5:10pm to pick up your Takeaway Iftar on both these days.

If you want to contribute by donating any food items such as sweets, packable Fruits, Small Water or Juice bottles/packs etc then please make sure that we have those items delivered before 3:00pm.

InshAllah, we are planning to prepare around 150 Iftar on each day*. Please do fast and encourage your family and friends to fast on these days and come to Mosque to collect *delicious takeaway Iftar.

Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was asked about Fasting the day of Ashura and he said, “It will expiate the sins of the past year [ṢAḤĪḤ MUSLIM 1162]

The Crescent for the Month of Muharram has been sighted both in Sydney and Brisbane Today, Thursday 20 August 2020.

InshAllah tomorrow, Friday 21 August 2020, will be the First of the Month of Muharram .

InshAllah, Sunday, 30 August 2020, will be the day of Ashura.
