Update for brothers and sisters following local moon sighting

For the brothers and sisters who follow local moonsighting masjid Omar Comittee would like to announce the moon has been sighted in Tennant Creek, Australia.

First of Ramadan for those following local moon sighting will be Tuesday 12th of March.

Masjid Omar Committee reminds brothers and sisters, as announced already, for those following calculation from ANIC, Ramadan is also starting tomorrow, 12th of March.

1- Salah Marathon for Kids

Pray in congregation (Jama’a) at the masjid. Pick up your Salaat calendar from the masjid and get it signed by the imam for every prayer you pray in Jama’a at Omar Mosque (only first Jama’a, Jumma any session). Most prayers in congregation wins. More rules on the calendar. Calendars are available in the kitchenette.

2 – Ramadan Quiz – All Ages

Every night between Isha Azan and Jama’a, Sheikh Abdul Rahman will be giving a talk inshAllah. On Saturday, the 6th of April, there will be a quiz held on these talks. Most points wins.

Start of Ramadan ANIC Tue 12th Mar. Moonsighting Announcement will be made in evening of Mon 11th Mar

Many Muslim organisations, including ANIC, have already announced that the first day of Ramadan will be Tuesday, the 12th of March Inshallah.

Taraweeh prayer at Omar Mosque will commence on Monday night and isha jamat will be 20 minutes after azan, throughout the month of Ramadan

For the brothers and sisters who follow local moon sighting, the announcement will be made on Monday night, 11th of March, after the moon sighting has been observed.

Iftar will be served every day at the masjid straight after maghrib prayer. Maghrib prayer will be offered at its regular time 5 minutes after azan.
